Hosannas @ Mayne Stage

For those Chicagoans who never venture far from their neighborhood haven (Bridgeport), a place like the Mayne Stage in Rogers Park is easy to miss. For those of you who find yourselves frequenting DIY venues as a main source of inspiring, danceable, fresh-blood music, a place like the Mayne Stage is foreign. Recently rehabbed and vaudeville era-inspired, it's a happy surprise to have a seat and take in the acts, and have your glass kept full. And after noting that it takes up the corner of Morse and Wayne Avenues, I was able to forgive the name.

On Thursday (the 14th) Conductive Alliance played here alongside A Tundra, Mike Golden and Friends, and Hosannas.

If you missed the show, you missed Corey Brekher's beauteous singing debut, and you should be kicking yourself. Headliners Hosannas mesmerized, playing songs off of soon-to-be-released Together. Go buy it, though I would recommend chasing them around the country and seeing them live first.

Conductive Alliance WNUR Set

Conductive Alliance performed a live radio set on July 17th at Chicago's own WNUR 89.3. The band is a regular at the station and always enjoys experimenting with new songs in their studio. Head over to WNUR.org to hear the set in its entirety.

Since motoring out of Chicago on Saturday Conductive Alliance has experienced many things. Among those are fried pickles, southern hospitality at its finest, friends, family, and the psychedelic chromatics of a hookah bar called The Smoking Caterpillar (alongside locals Textile).

Currently ambling through sultry Memphis, today CA met this man, who just couldn't seem to contain his enthusiasm for women, beer and dance.

CA heads to Nashville on Wednesday, playing the Little Hamilton Collective, and Louisville's Skull Alley on Thursday.

Tonight at 9pm, we gather to the sounds of friends Robert Ellis, Leaf Bird and a Not-to-be-Missed Special Guest at a familiar place, the living room of The Fort. If you were around last summer, you remember cozying up to Robert Ellis and fellow Texans Listen!Listen! in this very spot as the summer tour season wound down. Robert returns to us on his 2010 Summer Tour before heading back down south. Midwest lovelies Leaf Bird, whose first full length Purien Arbours debuted earlier this year, join him.

Mat Daly

You may have seen the work of local screen print artist Mat Daly around. He's the principal poster designer for DIY monster Renegade Craft Fair, and has created posters for the likes of Andrew Bird, The Decemberists and The Tallest Man on Earth, to name a few.

To kick The Party off, we're pleased to announce that, yes, it is Mat's handiwork that graces the cover of Conductive Alliance's new Water Glyphs ep.
